If the incoming line is transporting the management information on DCC, it is highly

recommended to disable the DCC interface on the line at the far end before setting the

line loop back on the near end.

Procedure

• MS430502M chassis initial configuration

Using the procedure outlined in the present Manual and generic slot MS

(MS43062XM, MS430601M, etc.) Manual, configure the following parameters:

• MS430502M chassis IP address (the two MS430502M chassis must have a

different IP address)

• Enable the DCC option on the generic slot MS of the two MS430502M chassis

• Installation

Consult the MS430502M chassis Installation Manual for mounting and powering

up information.

Connect the line interface of the two generic slot MS modules as described in the

previous schematic.

End procedure

Usi ng MS430890M and Optical Amplifier

In WDM long haul application using Optical Amplifier, it is also possible to insert a

management optical supervising channel on the WDM link. This management optical

supervising channel (1590 nm) is provided by the MS430890M and inserted on /

extracted from the WDM line by the Optical Amplifier.
