The WDM system (Wavelength
Division Multiplexer) has been
developed for applications in
the Metropolitan Area Network
(MAN).
This system offers the
transmission of four
independent high speed services
over one single mode fiber
connection. The WDM
technology is an efficient
solution, where the capacity of
existing fiber cables can be
multiplied without changing the
infrastructure.
The WDM system from
MICROSENS allows
telecommunication providers,
ISPs, operators of metro
networks and enterprises with a
long distance network a right
away and especially cost
effective solution to increase
the capacity of existing fiber
connections.
Each channel allows high speed
services such as ATM OC-12,
Gigabit Fibre Channel and
Gigabit Ethernet.
The system is based on the
CWDM technology and uses the
optical window around 1550 nm
with a channel spacing of 20 nm.
The system allows datarates of
max. 10 Gbit/s (1.25 Gbit/s per
channel and each direction).
The WDM sytsem has a slot for
the optional SNMP/web based
management. The power supply
can be secured with the RPSU
system (Redundant Power
Supply Unit).
