The MICROSENS 10Base-FL /

10Base-2 media converter

allows to connect coaxial

cables (10Base-2) with fibers

(10Base-FL) in an Ethernet

network (IEEE 802.3).

Due to this direct coupling it

is possible to extend existing

coaxial cables over the limit

of 185 m.

The advantage of the

repeaterless conversion

between the media is, that

the use of media converters

gives no further limitation

regarding the maximum

number of repeaters in a

network.

Colour coded LEDs give status

information about the

converter and can be used for

network diagnostics.

There is no complete signal

regeneration done, because

the converter is working

repeaterless.

The converter is also available

as an insertion module for

the mounting into the

modular 19“ media converter

system.
